George Schiestel
President/Co-Owner/Construction Estimator

Making his entry in the woodworking world over 45 years ago, George, co-owner, co-founder, and president of Detail Kitchens served his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker while building store fixtures for a major food store chain. Later he moved into commercial construction; remodeling and installing casework in showrooms at the Merchandise Mart and throughout the Chicago area, and eventually progressed into residential construction. Along with a partner, they established Detail Construction Company. Beginning the business by primarily installing custom millwork in large homes throughout the Chicago northwest suburbs, the company expanded its level of expertise into new home construction, room additions, and remodeling. With the help of his wife, Arlene, they opened a kitchen and bath design studio under the name, "Detail," a word that truly describes the type of work they base their business around. With a combination of experience in the construction field and the additional training through the National Kitchen and Bath Association's education programs, George relates well to architects and builders, as well as to those customers whose projects require extensive remodeling work.

George is actively involved in his church. He is an aviation enthusiast as well as a private pilot, and enjoys traveling, photography, and outdoor activities.

Arlene Schiestel
Co-Owner and Designer

As co-owner and co-founder of Detail Kitchens, Arlene has been involved in the remodeling industry since 1974. Arlene received extensive training through the National Kitchen & Bath Association's education programs and has been creatively designing kitchens for over twenty years.

Arlene is actively involved in her church and currently serves as Vice President of the Northwest Cook County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. She enjoys having fun with her grandchildren, gardening, and riding her John Deere Tractor in Door County, Wisconsin.

Michael Schiestel
Project Coordinator

Michael is a graduate of the University of Dubuque with a degree in Aviation Management and Aircraft Operations. Working in the remodeling industry throughout high school and college, he has developed a well-rounded knowledge of construction from his experiences. Although a graduate of aviation and an experienced pilot, Michael, with his construction background, is the Project Coordinator for Detail Kitchens. He oversees all ongoing projects, manages the installation team and sub-trades, and maintains client relations from start to finish. He enjoys spending time with his wife and twin children Paige and Noah. He also enjoys fishing, camping, hiking and most other outdoor activities.

Marge Davis
Receptionist/Office Manager

Marge is usually the first voice you will hear when you call. Like all those at Detail Kitchens, she wears many hats. She is the receptionist and office manager. She oversees the ordering and purchasing of all non-cabinet related items such as hardware, plumbing fixtures, faucets, ceramic tile, and specialty lighting so that they are ready for delivery when the installation is scheduled to begin. Marge also greets our customers and can provide a guided tour of the showroom while demonstrating the many features shown within our various displays.

Marge plays an active role in her church and enjoys reading, photography, traveling, and water aerobics.

Natalie Fowler
Designer

Natalie earned her bachelors degree in Interior Design from the Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg College of Design. She interned for an interior design firm in Barrington Illinois before joining our team in November of 2006. She brings a fresh new perspective to our kitchen designs and has introduced our firm to Auto-Cad, a computer drawing program that allows us to produce extremely accurate floor plans and elevations. This program is used by a majority of architects which allows our kitchen designs to be imported directly into most architectural plans.

Natalie loves traveling, good food, and being an avid Cub fan, she enjoys living in Wrigleyville.

Cathy Sullivan
Designer

Cathy joined Detail Kitchen in August of 2009. She received her degree in Interior Design from Harper College and has an AKBD certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Cathy has worked in the kitchen design industry for over 10 years in Itasca, Barrington and Glen Ellyn. She loves transforming interior spaces into interesting, functional layouts that serve the individual’s lifestyle.

Spending time with her husband and three children along with many friends tops her list of favorite activities. She enjoys anything to do with water sports, music and definitely warm weather.
